Analysis of Low-Voltage Networks and
the Demand of Small Consumers
The main aim of the project is to analyse the construction and operation of lowvoltage
(LV) grids. These are significant since 95 percent of the Croatian consumers
are connected to the electricity system via low-voltage grids.
The following are regularly monitored: optimal size and types of network elements;
conformity with safety requirements; conformity with quality requirements
for electricity; electricity losses; IT support for network planning, design and maintenance;
demand and power for small consumers. Special emphasis needs to be
given to the following activities performed under the auspices of the project: study
on the design methods for LV networks; the development of computer software
for the design and monitoring of their operation; study on the introduction of a
new 10(20)/0,4 kV low-loss transformer with a transmission ratio 10(20)/0,42 kV;
study on the introduction of new distribution voltage 230/400V; study on the necessary
activities to introduce this internationally agreed voltage into Croatian networks.
