The main goal of the project is to discover the most efficient models for improving
the quality of power by studying and applying knowledge from the fields of
electric power engineering, statistics, and database and information technologies.
Energy as a product has been the subject of discussions ever since the enactment
of the European Union Directives which explicitly state that the term Product
can be applied to power. Power is produced in generation facilities and derives
its characteristics from the entire system that comprises generation, transmission
and distribution. The term Quality of Supply implies the reliability and quality
of supply. Recently, a term having a broader significance has been introduced
- Quality of Service. Quality of service to the customer can be examined from
three aspects: reliability of supply, quality of supply and the provision of information
to the customer.
